Removing a Member of the Mental Design Team

I am all the members of the Mental Design Team. Since I often make decisions by discussing things with myself, I personified all the voices and wrote out the dialog. They have been testy a bit lately:

Expectations was in a loud mood, “You should have made the photos on the patterns page have a caption months ago, so people would know to just click on the photo to see an individual pattern without going through tons of intermediate screens. Why didn’t you do it already? You must be so lazy.”

Patternist (who is also our coder) looked up from her tutorial on the Internet, “Stop that, I didn’t know how to format a box within a box and float them months ago, and if I’m ever going to get it done, I need quiet to study.”

Expectations clicked on the tutorials, “And these photos, I mean, they get the job done, they are clear and everything, but you need to re-do them. You take much better ones now. What were you thinking three years ago before you read all those photography books?”

Patternist retorted, “We hadn’t read those books yet.”

Expectations continued, “I put all these jobs on the to do list Tuesday, and they aren’t done yet, what is the matter with you?”

Mamma Bear arrived next, arm in arm with Editor, “These two are so loud they will wake up the children! And Expectations is not playing fair with Patternist.”

Editor looked sternly at Expectations, “I am removing your from the Design Team as a full member. You may consult with me and Butterfly, but you may not have the final word.”

Expectations sneered a bit but was quiet, for the moment.

Patternist did not look any happier.

Mamma Bear glared at Editor.

Editor gently slipped in front of the keyboard, and renamed the ‘To Do on Tuesday’ List ‘Goals for Research List.’

Patternist sat up straighter, the room was quite now.
