I’m not sure which break it was, but Dan again drove me to the wonderful yarn store in Providence. I (of course) was wearing my red midi blouse. Which means it probably wasn’t Christmas break, because much as I wanted to boast, I wouldn’t have worn something cold.
The owner was again chatting with a regular at the counter, and mentioned, “And stay away from those knit in the round patterns. You may not have to purl, you may not have any seams, but the shoulder will be sloppy.”
I started to smirk.
When it was my turn, I remarked that I’d made my sweater from the yarn I’d bought the last visit. And that I’d knit it in the round.
She swallowed, smiled and said, “Well, you must be quite clever, that is a neat shoulder.”
I hope I bought a lot of yarn that day – I don’t remember.
And I could never find that store again – it’s hard to get lost three times in the same way.
