Ruth Brasch named the Louisette socks after her Mom; who first taught her to knit, encouraged her in fiber arts, and posed as a model. Ruth wrote about her family and her Christian faith as a part of her identity in the e-book; so it was fun that when I met her in person this year at Rhinebeck she helped me with a gift for my daughter.
I dither over yarn purchases, so I didn’t buy the sock yarn for my daughter until the next day. K is up to the gussets on her first sock now, I turned the heel for her, but she’s done most everything else.
In addition to designing knits, Ruth crochets and dyes yarn. I did my best to soak up some of her knowledge of yarn.
