I wrote 18 sizes. I tried to space them about 2” apart, but the yoke pattern dictated which sizes were possible. Thank you for commenting last summer, since the pattern has 2” ease, I did include all 18 sizes. So There should be a base size very close to yours that will minimize your time with a calculator making your fitting alterations, and you can “Frankensize,” as needed too.
I’m so pleased with the notches at the hip, wrist and neck.
The circles in the yoke may ring some bells if you’ve been reading this blog for a while. They are the same technique from the k a p o w cowl
The difference here is that the dot is worked in contrasting colored yarn at a different gauge from the main color of the sweater. (This was Pam’s idea from a table discussion at In the Loop yarn store a few years ago). SpaceCadet yarns helped me decide on colors, and is selling yarn kits.
In case you are wondering, Lyra is a marvelous yarn for the base of the sweater. It scoffs at pills. It’s so soft on the back of the neck. It bounces and it drapes. And the colors add spice to the soothing stockinette sections. There are so many colors that they dye too. Their mini skeins made us all say “Awe, how cute!” when the package came.
If you want to design your own yoke colors, just look at the chart above for how many you need in your size, and order your colors from them. Just put the emphasis on the smallest circles on the top to emphasize your face.
Kari and I picked a gradient of greens, ending in a sparkling yarn base. rusty-hex on Instagram this morning commented “malachite,” and I can see that in the greens!
Each of the yoke sizes has circles graded to scale for the size of the sweater, arranged in a rough fibonacci sequence, so all those circles point to your face.
