It came 2 days sooner than expected
I opened it on the porch right away, the letter carrier was interested and picked his favorite square. It made me a little sad that I plan to take it apart!
It was midday, so I want to the Eastern side of the apartment, where the houseplants are having their summer vacation, and spread it out for photos away from direct sun glare.
The initial border was alternating stripes of single crochet, then double crochet, to unify the whole. The middles look like they were scrap pieces, but all of them have a cream, then peach row, which unifies the whole nicely! (Even though some of the peach looked like a different dye lot. I only noticed when I looked very closely. Good work! I’ll keep these tricks in mind!)
I plan to use the frogged boarder for my experiments and demonstrations, as it will also coordinate.
Thank you whoever made this afghan, for joining the squares in single crochet, I’ve already pulled strips apart for my experiments. The fuzzy acrylic was harder to frog than the smooth, but it wasn’t too pilled, so yeah!
After photos and inspection, I washed the blanket, and draped it over a large yew bush to air out. There was a faint scent of cigarettes, and it had picked up a lot of straw from being spread out in the lawn.
