Silvia of ELF, Week 3 of Technicolor: Movie Night

Girl wearing the Silvia of ELF cape peeks around the trunk of a cherry tree

Silvia of ELF is a cape pattern to make the uniform of the Elf Leaf Force, where Silvia is sworn to do good, protect the plants and create stories.  If she was in a streaming series, I’d watch her.

This pattern is the 3rd in the Technicolor: Movie Night e-book.

The cape is knit bottom up, to enjoy the scallops on the hem.  The shoulder decreases are worked into the cables.  There are three height variations for the cables, all of which are both charted and written.  Your patterns should communicate in the way you enjoy.

My daughter decided that Silvia needed at least one haughty High Elf photo.

There are 18 ways to wear the cape!  Starting at the top, the collar can be worn, or skipped, the button holes can be left plain, or the button links can be inserted.  The front can be closed with all of the tabs, a few of the tabs, the button band, or both the button band and the tabs.

As I was organizing the bits and bobs, I realized that I needed a bag.  And if I needed a bag, Silvia Needs a Bag.

The sport weight yarn I used for this cape was North Bay Fiber Elemental Sport.  The worsted spun Cormo yarn is bouncy, with amazing stitch definition and color choices.  What a joy to get to work with it!
