My daughter Kari and I published the Nicondo Scarf together, and I owe her $7.50 but am out of change.
My son Ben gave me the search term for Apollonian Gaskets and I have been skittering across the internet learning about Steiner Chains, Soddy Circles and Invercive Geometry ever since, I even bought a text book. I think I will finally have an application for those lacy circles. In fact, here is the idea, Please color it in and email your ideas at Christine at christineguestdesigns dot com
Ruth Brasch was the first sock designer to get me making socks regularly, with the realization that I could make fabric tight enough if I tensioned the yarn like thread crochet. She had me read several sock books. So it’s awesome that she is serving as TE for my first ever sock pattern!
I was given some wool this fall and made Kari a vest. I also made her a two long sleeved sweaters which grabbed her heart as the temperature dropped. Neither were available this Sunday, so I suggested she wear her vest. I was surprised at her strong negative reaction. It turned out that the bind off I’d used on the hem was too tight. I tinked it back, and tried Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind off instead. Success! If Kari didn’t have the Princess and the Pea feel for knits, I’d never have realized how important the bind-off, Cast-on match needs to feel. Kari’s feel for edges also made me seek Ruth’s advice on the cast on for my coming top down sock, which taught me the Old Norwegian AKA Twisted German Cast on.
What are you learning from your co-laborers these days?

Great lessons learned – loved the bit about the princess and the pea… Puddles was that way too with weaving in ends. Hmmm, for the $7.50 maybe head out for ice cream to break a $10 ;-).
