Achird socks shown in Anzula Nebula Blueberry yarn

Achird is a star in Cassiopeia, one of the few constellations I can locate, the name goes with the twist stitch stars up the instep.  To keep with the star theme, the yarn I used is Anzula’s Nebula (color blueberry).

Achird socks are toe up, starting with a round  heel.  As Ruth Brasch points out, a toe up sock lets you (easily) nestle the stitch pattern into the shape of the toe, and that is so cute.

Achird’s heel is a short row one.  I link to a tutorial on adjusting the fit; but since many of my knitting friends feel like they use up their math brains at work, I included specific numbers so their are medium and wide options done.

Above the heel, the back of the sock switches to ribbing.  I wanted to make sure that the hexagonal frame flowed neatly, so that is also pre-calculated in the pattern.

In addition to Ruth Brasch’s Technical Editing, I had three lovely test knitters (with mad camera skills!) Moniek, Ditte, and Hannah.

I especially appreciated  your help, because these are the first socks I’ve ever written.
