The Herringbone Hexagonal Cowl is Great for Buttons

I wanted to used my favorite bias herringbone stitch, and I wanted to try a new construction for a cowl, but mostly I wanted to show off beautiful buttons.  So the button hole is sewn into a seam, you can make it as large as needed to show off really amazing buttons.

the Herringbone Hexagonal Cowl has a Fun Construction

The Herringbone Hexagonal Cowl begins with a center out square of Quaker Welt Stitch worked flat. The two sides around the buttonhole are bound off, then the cowl is finished with Rib and Welt Diagonals worked on the bias. The buttonhole is closed with two seams and the cowl is secured with a button.

What the Test Knitters had to say about Herringbone Hexagonal Cowl

I love it: the pattern is easy to memorize and very ingenious.

It's a lovely pattern and the 4 row repeat is easy to memorize.

I LOVE how it turned out! It's a great pattern. It's purl-heavy, but I don't mind that at all. The only suggestion I'd make is to include a picture of how to measure the swatch. I had to read that part about 6 times to get what you were saying about how to measure it. I had never used the disappearing cast on before and it's VERY cool. So thanks for teaching me something new. I really enjoyed doing this. Good luck with the pattern release.

I didn't encounter any errors in the pattern and no confusing parts.
