I haven’t made a stranded color work project since Ben learned to walk and he’s starting his second college semester today. But as you can see on Dan’s sweater, I did use corrugated ribbing on the cuffs and neck. The TECHKnitter has some Corrugated ribbing tricks and tips. Vickie Howell has a tutorial and pattern Intro to Two-Handed Stranding: Knit Corrugated Rib
I have mentioned how much I’ve enjoyed Wooly Wormhead’s Quynn, right? I made 3 of them this fall. She has a A quick Hat blocking tip.
Charming story from Talitha Kuomi “mystery solved,” the way she’s always looking and wondering, no wonder she picks up fun details in knitting…and life…
Back to the rib theme, but this time in crochet, Marly Bird has a tutorial for Crochet Stretchy Slip Stitch Rib. I’ve so far tried the slightly stretchy sc (dc in British terminology) rib, the charming back loop of hdc method (I’m not sure what the British Terminology is for that) and alternating post stitches, but Marly’s method goes on my swatch list, because I haven’t done that yet.
Generally, non – reversible scarfs drive me nuts, but I’m making one at the moment. It has garter selvages, and a fun, complex cable in the middle, so the reverse looks stocking stitch-ish and inoffensive. Knitting for Both Sides: Reversible Knitting with Scarves covers lots of methods for making scarfs you don’t have to think about while wearing.
